The Jaguar XF has been named the best executive car by women's motoring website evecars.com.

It was judged by a panel of women including evecars.com editor Alex Jenner-Fust and Vicky Parrott from Autocar.

The team assessed it on five criteria: comfort, practicality, space, parking and driving.

Ms Jenner-Fust said it combined "cutting-edge technology with a classic British feel" and that driving it was "a real pleasure".

She also praised its sound system and comfortable seats.

Geoff Cousins, UK managing director of Jaguar Cars, said the firm valued the female market highly. The car was named Auto Express' Car of the Year 2008 earlier this week and has collected 17 awards since its debut in Frankfurt last year.

Earlier this month, the Jaguar XF's sound system was also voted Best Buy under £100,000, in further news to interest holders of car insurance.
Its Bowers & Wilkins in-car audio system received the title from the What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision Ultimate Guide to High End Entertainment.
