Production of the Mitsubishi Outlander has gone up in some parts of the world, according to the Japanese automobile manufacturer.

The company has stated that brisk sales have contributed to a 37.5 per cent rise in the European and Chinese markets, car insurance customers may be interested to know.

In total vehicle sales, some 15,705 vehicles were sold in the company's home country - a drop of 12.3 per cent compared to this time last year and its tenth consecutive monthly fall.

However, the firm added that there was an increase in the number of Mitsubishi vehicles produced in Japan.

"Production volume in Japan at 70,747 units was up 5.1 per cent, the 21st consecutive month of year-on-year growth and marking a new record for June," commented the manufacturer.

Meanwhile, Mitsubishi has revealed that it may be testing its new electric car, the I MiEV model, in California.
