07 August 2008 Britain is Kia's 'number one market'
New statistics from South Korean automobile manufacturer Kia Motors show that the UK is its strongest-performing market in Europe.According to figures from the firm, some 2,316 vehicles were delivered to British drivers in July 2008.
The company added that during 2008 so far it has sold 20,550 new Kia models in Britain, which is approximately 3,000 more than in the German market - its closest European rival.
It may be that with the rise in Kia sales comes an increase in car insurance policies being taken out by consumers, as they look to cover their new car.
"The Kia brand is not resting on its laurels and is committed to giving people fun and quality cars that stand out in today's difficult economic climate," said Kia Motors UK managing director Paul Philpott.
The second largest automobile manufacturer in South Korea, Kia is also a subsidiary of the Hyundai Kia Automotive Group.
