24 July 2008 Competitive car finance 'can increase BIMS sales'

A car finance deal could be picked up at BIMS. A number of competitive car finance deals could increase the amount of sales at this year's British International Motor Show (BIMS), it has been claimed.

The Finance & Leasing Association (FLA) has stated that compared to one year ago, more new vehicles are being sold on finance deals.

Furthermore, 49.3 per cent of all new private car sales before June 2008 were point-of-sale car finance deals, it added.

Such an arrangement could leave motorists with more money to each month to pay for car insurance and road tax bills.

According to FLA director general Stephen Sklaroff, companies selling at BIMS could do well this week.

"Motor dealerships can help by offering competitive finance packages to fit all pockets. They can often serve customers finding it difficult to raise money elsewhere," he said.

This year's BIMS runs at ExCeL London from July 23rd to August 3rd.
