23 July 2008 Electric vehicle unveiled at motor show

New electric vehicle unveiled Visitors to the British International Motor Show this week will be able to take a look at the world's only tested and certified electric vehicle.

Norwegian company Think has brought its zero emissions, zero CO2, low cost, energy-efficient city car to the exhibition.

It revealed that it has a battery that can run for 126 miles when fully charged and that the vehicle is 95 per cent recyclable, car insurance customers may be interested to know.

According to Think UK managing director Richard Blundell, the city car is "great to look at" while also being "cheap to run".

"Unlike the lower-range, electric quadricycles that have had limited success in the UK, the Think city is a real car which provides a realistic option for those motorists who want to drive a true zero emissions car," said the official.

The origins of the electric car can be traced back to Robert Anderson's creation of the first crude electric carriage in the 1830s.
