17 July 2008 Britons 'confused about CO2 emissions'

CO2 emissions are still a mystery for some. There is still a large amount of uncertainty among Britons when it comes to CO2 emissions from vehicles, according to new research.

A survey from the British International Motor Show found that 60 per cent of people are confused when it comes to environmentally-friendly driving.

When it comes to the specifics of a hybrid car, 25 per cent of Britons thought hybrid vehicles run only on biofuels, while four per cent believe such a vehicle is actually two cars welded together.

This comes despite the fact that purchasing an environmentally-friendly model can reduce car insurance policy costs from some cover companies.

A Greener Driving Pavilion is to be set up at the British International Motor Show this year.

Inside will be simulators and vehicle cutaways, informing people about how they can reduce emissions on the road.

What Car? will be hosting its first Green Awards at the pavilion on Tuesday July 22nd.
