08 July 2008 Road safety scheme to be held at go-kart track

Scottish police will hold a road safety seminar for young drivers. A road safety message is to be presented by police in Scotland at a go-kart track later this month, according to a local news source.

The Aberdeen Press & Journal has stated that Grampian Police will be using the Grampian Karting Club near Banf to tell 17 to 25-year-olds about the importance of staying out of danger on the roads.

It could be that those who heed the message find that their improved highways awareness results in cheap car insurance policies in the future.

Constable Julie Bremner from Grampian Police's road safety unit commented that she is pleased with the support received from the karting club.

"We would not be currently able to offer these training days if we did not have the support from the local community and businesses," said the official.

Meanwhile, a schools road safety scheme coordinated by the Northamptonshire Casualty Reduction Partnership has seen Year 6 pupils at Naseby Primary School praised for their work, according to the Harborough Mail.
