07 July 2008 'Top European driving location is Germany'
New research has found that Germany is UK motorists' preferred place to drive in Europe.According to the study from Vauxhall, in which 1,100 drivers were surveyed, the country finished ahead of France, Norway and Spain.
This comes despite the fact that 35 per cent of motorists stated that they panic when they travel on European roads, the company added.
Indeed, motorists may be more prone to invalidate their car insurance policies when driving on roads in Europe, as accidents could be more likely.
"These results reveal just how much Brits enjoy driving abroad ... It is great to get away and have your own freedom to come and go as you please," said Simon Ewart from Vauxhall.
This follows recent research from Sainsbury's in which 17 per cent of motorists in the UK were found to be taking their vehicles out of the UK at some point in the forthcoming 12 months.
