27 June 2008 British International Motor Show 'gets green'

Motorists to be told about green issues This year's British International Motor Show is set to highlight the need for motorists to be environmentally-friendly.

Car and van drivers will be told how they can cut emissions at the event, which will be held at ExCeL London from July 23rd to August 3rd.

Inside the Co-operative Insurance Greener Driving Pavilion will be vehicle cutaways and simulators, in addition to interactive displays on how drivers can alleviate the environmental pressure on the planet, car insurance customers may be keen to read.

Jim Fitzpatrick, transport minister, stated that changes can be employed by all drivers in order to tackle climate change.

"The British International Motor Show has taken this opportunity to focus on greener vehicle options and help motorists reduce their impact on the environment," said the official.

Also at the exhibition will be the first new model from Lotus in 12 years - codenamed Project Eagle.
