25 June 2008 Women 'switching to motorbikes to save money'
Female motorists are deciding to switch to motorbikes rather than use their vehicles in a bid to escape high costs, it has been reported.New research from the Post Office has found that 14 per cent of women would be prepared to change from four wheels to two.
And a further study from the University of Hull's Motorcycle Consumer Research Unit found that one in five females are ready to switch if the price is right.
However, it may be that a motorbike insurance policy for a new rider is still more expensive than a car insurance deal for an experienced driver.
The results of the study come as a pair of motorbike enthusiasts in Southport indulged in their passion at their wedding this week.
Guy Griffiths travelled to church on a motorcycle in order to marry Janet Graham, according to the Southport Visiter.
