19 June 2008 Vehicle exhibition to show off green motoring
The British International Motor Show will be showing off the future of environmentally-friendly motoring when it kicks off next month.Set up in association with the Department for Transport's Act on CO2 campaign, the Co-operative Insurance Greener Driving Pavilion will offer advice on how drivers can cut their carbon footprint.
It may be that those who drive in a more eco-friendly manner save on their car insurance policies, as some firms offer cheaper dealers to green drivers.
David Neave, Co-operative Insurance director of general insurance, commented that the firm is hoping to raise green awareness in drivers.
He said: "The aim is to give motorists who want to go green a better understanding of government schemes such as the new fridge-type efficiency labels on cars, tax bands on emissions and variable congestion charges."
This comes as Friends of the Earth recently remarked that the Conservative Party needs to put more pressure on Gordon Brown when it comes to environmental issues, the Environmental Transport Association reported.
