18 June 2008 Drivers 'could cut costs through fuel offsetting'

Motorists could save with right car insurance. The amount of money people spend on their vehicles could be offset, according to a price comparison website.

Gocompare.com has stated that shopping around for cheap car or van insurance deal is one way in which motorists can save money.

It added that the last year has seen rising fuel prices cost the average petrol driver around £196.

Hayley Parsons, speaking of behalf of Gocompare.com, remarked that the issue is causing everyone to get angry and added that they should manage their motor budget more frugally.

"The case for switching car insurers is compelling enough at the best of times but with motorists facing increased costs you have to look to save money where you can," said the official.

Last month, protests against the rising cost of fuel were held by hauliers across the UK, including a rally close to Marble Arch in London.
