16 June 2008 Fuel crisis sees drivers band together online

Motorists have been using the internet to avoid the fuel crisis. Motorists in the UK have come together online in order to sidestep the fuel crisis which is currently causing problems across the nation, it has been reported.

According to Mirror.co.uk, car and van drivers have been using internet message boards to share information as to which petrol stations are the best to use.

It added that their strategy could have been successful, with the news source stating that only around 120 outlets ran dry as the weekend progressed.

Running out of petrol could prove problematic for a number of motorists, as their vehicles may become damaged and their car or van insurance policies could be compromised as a result of the shortage or any resulting accidents.

This comes as the Bristol Evening Post has stated motorists were queuing twenty at a time to refuel their vehicles at a number of supermarket forecourts situated around the city.
