09 June 2008 'World's best drivers' to make Festival of Speed appearance

Car insurance customers passionate about motor sport should head to the Festival of Speed at Goodwood next month where some of the world's best drivers will be making an appearance.

With this year's event carrying theme of 'Hawthorn to Hamilton – Britain's Love Affair with World Motor Sport', it is hardly surprising that F1 champion Lewis Hamilton will be in attendance.

The young driver, who crashed in the pit lane at the Canadian Grand Prix at the weekend shattering his dreams of winning the competition for the second time, will be taking part in the Goodwood Hillclimb alongside fellow motoring greats such as Jensen Button.

The 1.16 mile-long race is the highlight of the annual festival and will see drivers of all types of vehicles climb a "steep and narrow estate road past flint walls and dense woodland groves" according to the official Goodwood website.

Also making an appearance at the event will be motorsport heroes such as Sir Stirling Moss, Jackie Stewart and Damon Hill, so visitors will have plenty of fun star spotting.

Held at Goodwood House near Chichester in West Essex from July 11th to 13th, the 2008 Festival of Speed will feature displays of modern and iconic car models, including an exhibition of American top-fuel dragsters from the 1950s and 60s.
