04 June 2008 Southampton gets new secure parking area
Meteor meet and greet parking, in Southampton has unveiled plans for its new Meteor Park & Ride programme for individuals travelling to Southampton airport.
It is situated 1.5 miles from the airport and has a secure car parking area where customers can leave their vehicles while travelling.
In order to promote the facility, Meteor is offering a 20 per cent discount for anyone wishing to use the service and who books in advance during 2008.
Sarah Anglim, director of Meteor meet and greet parking, said: "Travellers can get to Southampton by car and park in our secure car park, which is monitored by CCTV.
"The car park is 'self park' so travellers have the freedom to choose where they would like to park their vehicle."
Car insurance customers may be interested to hear that in 2005, 199,531 cars were stolen in England, Scotland and Wales and cars that were between 12 and 14 years old were at the highest risk.
