29 May 2008 Couples 'fall out over driving abroad'

Couples argue when driving abroad. Driving is an activity that regularly results in arguments between holidaying couples, new research has found.

Vehicle rental firm easyCar.com has stated that 48 per cent of partners quarrel abroad over map-reading prowess, while 28 per cent bicker about driving too quickly and 21 per cent over misunderstanding road signs.

The group added that psychologist Professor David Moxon has identified four types of road navigator: the SatNavvies, the Planners, the Road Signers and the Freewheelers.

People may find that their car insurance policy is compromised depending on which style of driving they employ.

"A driving holiday is the best way to get off the well-trod tourist path and do some exciting trail-blazing of your own. A bit of forward planning can help make sure your road trip is stress-free," stated easyCar.com chief executive Bill Jones.

This comes after Defaqto last week warned drivers heading abroad for the bank holiday to make sure their car insurance policies covered them.ADNFCR-682-ID-18614800-ADNFCR
