There has been a rise in the number of people booking a caravan holiday for the summer, it has been claimed.

According to Haven Holidays, there has been a 30 per cent hike in bookings for June and July breaks in the last three weeks.

This comes after the company last year invested over £40 million in its caravan sites in an effort "to meet and exceed guest expectations".

But those who are heading away for such a holiday this year should make sure they take out a thorough travel insurance policy in order to cover them against damage and theft.

"Caravan holidays remain fantastic value for money with a wide range of activities on their holidays at no extra cost and a full entertainment programme to keep all the family happy," stated Haven Holidays.

Haven manages a number of parks in the UK including the Orchards in the south-east of England.
