29 April 2008 Greener car 'would be considered by 21 million'
An environmentally-friendly vehicle would be considered by 21 million people in the UK, according to new research.Price comparison site Tescocompare.com has found that drivers would swap their vehicle if it was cheaper to do so and there was an incentive for making the change.
The firm stated that a car insurance policy for a green automobile costs an average of £50 more.
In addition, one in four motorists stated that they would opt for an eco-friendly model if the alternative was paying higher taxes and petrol prices.
This comes as British rock band Radiohead recently made an environmentally-friendly appearance on a US chat show.
By appearing on Late Night with Conan O'Brien via satellite link-up from the UK, the group saved on emissions and reduced their carbon footprint.
Indeed, the plane journey would save as much CO2 as the amount emitted over a year driving a car.
