24 April 2008 Seatbelt safety wishlist revealed in survey
A new survey has revealed the celebrities who members of the public would like to see front a safety campaign to remind motorists to use their seatbelts.Glamour model Keeley Hazell came out on top in the voting, followed by Liverpool football player Steven Gerrard and Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton, according to the Newcarnet.co.uk poll.
Amy Winehouse, Jimmy Saville and David Hasselhoff were also listed as famous people the public would like to see speak out for road safety.
Such a campaign could help motorists save on their car insurance policy should it be successful.
"For very different reasons, the public admire celebrities like these, so they really could have the ability to help to change opinions and save lives," commented Massimo Pini from Newcarnet.co.uk.
This comes as an interview in the Guardian with driving instructor Gary Lamb found that former pop singer Sinitta was "really nice" to teach.
