22 April 2008 Motorists bypassing pedestrian rules 'need to stop'
Motorists in Skegness who are breaking the law by travelling in pedestrian parts of the region need to curb their actions, a local news source has reported.Skegness Today has stated that High Street is to be closed between 11:00 and 18:00 BST from May 1st to September 30th, although councillors believe drivers may ignore the scheme.
People who pick up convictions could find it difficult to take out car insurance policies in the future.
This is because some cover firms may view those who get into trouble as a potential road risk.
"If this year it happens again they are going to block off High Street themselves ... It needs to be addressed because it is dangerous down that road," commented councillor Sue Birch.
Horncastle Today has stated that officials are to survey the A158 from Lincoln to Skegness in an effort to cut accidents.
