17 April 2008 Bristol woman 'sick of poor parking'

Rogue parkers have made life difficult for a Bristol woman. Rogue motorists parking inconsiderately in an area of Bristol are making life difficult for a local woman, it has been reported.

According to the Evening Post, 42-year-old Judy Parker from Kendon Drive has had difficulty finding parking space outside her home near Southmead Hospital over the past three years.

The issue has become so bad that Ms Parker has even had to lease a garage in order to ensure she has space - but it is half a mile from her home.

"I have rented a nearby garage just so I can unload my shopping ... I know parking is a problem all over Bristol, but it's just so frustrating," she said.

People who pick up a motor conviction for poor parking could find that it affects their car or van insurance policies, if cover firms view them to be a risk.

This comes as new parking regulations were brought in across the UK earlier this year.

Under the rules, parking wardens can issue fixed penalty notices to motorists through the post, meaning that they can punish drivers who flee the scene of an offence.
