15 April 2008 Essex drivers warned following spate of break-ins
Police officers in Essex have reminded drivers to keep their vehicles as secure as possible following a spate of break-ins in the region, it has been reported.According to the Essex Echo, three cars on a road in Westcliff were targeted by thieves in the early hours of the morning on Tuesday April 15th.
The news source added that among these was a Ford Galaxy, which had two road maps taken from it by the criminals.
People who find their vehicles broken into may have to make a claim on their car insurance policy or pay out in order to get the automobile repaired.
National statistics published by the Home Office show that there has been a drop in the number of automobiles targeted by thieves.
According to figures from the body, there was a four per cent fall in vehicle crime in 2006 and 2007 compared to previous year.
