26 March 2008 Motorists 'more fatigued by government policies'

Motorists are growing tired with policies. Drivers on the roads in the UK are becoming tired with the government highways policy, it has been claimed.

According to the Association of British Drivers, people travelling across Britain are have been fatigued by a lack of investment from authorities to improve traffic flow and congestion.

Indeed, ABD spokesperson Nigel Humphries has stated that the stress imposed on motorists by new rules has resulted in tiredness among drivers.

A car insurance policy can be compromised by motorists who are involved in accidents due to tiredness, as cover firms could consider them a road risk.

"Drivers travelling in free flowing traffic, setting their speeds to the conditions are likely to remain far more alert than those crawling along in jams or becoming automatons," said Mr Humphries.

This comes as the government has launched its latest campaign to reduce accidents caused by tiredness on the road.

In order to get its messages across, officials have enlisted actor Joseph Fiennes to narrate a series of advertisements.
