12 March 2008 Speeders 'educated using new police van'

Young motorists to be taught by van. Young drivers breaking the law by speeding will be educated as to the dangers of their actions by a new and improved police van.

Motorcycle News reports that North Wales Police has converted one of their old vehicles into a one-stop-shop for road safety and will take it to race meets across the country.

A loudspeaker has been fitted in order to speak to people and get important messages across, the news source added.

In doing this, it may be that people save on their car insurance policies if they are involved in fewer accidents.

Writing in his blog, Deputy Chief Constable Clive Wolfendale commented that the vehicle is sure to impress young drivers.

"From the shell of an expired 'Arrive Alive' camera van and blinged up with the generous support of local automotive suppliers we have created what I am positive is the region's awesomest set of wheels," said the official.

Statistics from the Daily Post show that drivers under 25 were involved in 41 per cent of accidents in Wales over 2005.
