21 February 2008 Motorists 'more likely to be hit by new parking rules'

Parking changes set to be brought in next month. Changes to parking rules in the UK mean that drivers will find it more difficult to appeal against a ticket in the future, it has been claimed.

According to Which? Legal Service, the new regulations could make it hard for motorists to dodge punishment.

The firms states that from March 31st, drivers can pick up a ticket after being caught behaving badly on CCTV, later being sent the notice in the post.

It could be that such a fine proves to be an unwanted addition alongside car insurance and road tax bills.

"The new parking regulations mean that you could wake up one morning to find a ticket in your post, which makes it difficult to collect evidence if you want to appeal," said Joanne Lezemore, Which? Legal Service senior lawyer.

Motorists parking in Hyde Gardens on Sundays are to be charged for the act in future, according to the Mid Sussex Today.
