15 January 2008 Constable warns: Stick to limit or face consequences
A police official in Aylesbury has warned motorists to stick to the speed limit if they want to avoid being punished, it has been reported.Road safety constable Ian Leyland commented that "the limit is there for [drivers'] own safety", according to Aylesbury Today.
This comes as six motorists were caught out by officials after speeding on the A4146 on Sunday, the news source adds.
All six now face a fine and three-point licence penalty for the conviction, while it may also impact upon their car insurance policies.
"Operations of this nature will be conducted again at random times throughout the year to make sure people get the message that speeding will not be tolerated," said the official.
Last week, York Press reported that some 400 motorists were caught breaking the speed limit by North Yorkshire authorities as part of their winter roads campaign.
