21 December 2007 Millions in home damage caused by toddlers each year
By spilling drinks, breaking gadgets and writing all over furniture and walls, toddlers run up a hefty annual home repair bill for parents, according to new research.Halifax states that naughty children cause £122 million-worth of damage in property each year.
However, those with girls are likely to have it a little easier, as the body commented that boys are 20 per cent more likely to make such problems.
As a result, Halifax senior claims manager Martyn Foulds states that it may be an idea for mums and dads across the UK to pick up a home insurance policy.
"Parents can protect themselves from the costs of home repairs and damaged contents by ensuring their home insurance includes accidental damage cover," he said.
Indeed, those expecting relatives with young children to visit over the festive season could benefit from taking out cover sooner rather than later.
