14 December 2007 Parking attendants vehicles 'attacked by drivers'

Attendants cars 'attacked by motorists' A group of motorists annoyed at their treatment at the hands of parking attendants have attacked the vehicles of the officials, it has been reported.

The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald comments that the cars of the workers have been scratched and tyres have been punctured.

However, despite the act being brought about by discrepancies in the workplace, the news source adds that attendants have had to pick up the cost on their own car insurance policies.

According to Chris Major from the parking services department of Wiltshire District Council, this is unfair.

He said: "It's not fair for parking attendants to have to pick up the cost of this work-related damage on their own personal insurance premium."

Parking violations may lead to a fine and three-point licence penalty, which in turn can have an effect on the cost of car insurance next time a driver comes to renew.
