12 December 2007 Warwickshire motorists told: Keep cars safe

Warwickshire residents should be careful over car crime. Residents in Warwickshire should make sure their vehicles are secure and protected this winter after a spate of robberies in the region.

The icCoventry states that on Wednesday and Thursday four cars located close to each other were targeted by thieves.

As a result, it may be that the drivers of the vehicles now face difficulty picking up car insurance policies in the future.

This is because cover firms may consider them to be a risk, especially if they are not doing their utmost to keep their cars safe.

One vehicle on Church Street in Leamington lost a satellite navigation device and CD player, the news source added.

Officers in Greater Manchester made a similar announcement at the end of last month.

"By ensuring that keys are not left easily accessible through letterboxes or windows, the public can help us to reduce offences even further," said Glen Draper, Stockport CID detective constable.
