04 December 2007 Lincoln road 'needs police crackdown'
A driving instructor in Lincoln has called on police to introduce measures to reduce the number of accidents on a local road, it has been reported. The Lincolnshire Echo states that Gary Hill from Chippendale Road believes traffic calming would result in fewer incidents on the Fulmar Road bend.
Some 17 accidents have taken place there in the last 12 months, according to the news source.
It may now be that car insurance policies in the area are more expensive as a result, as cover firms could view people driving in the area to be more of a risk on the roads.
Mr Hill commented that safety in the area is an issue: "People are driving at 55 to 60 mph and I have great concerns that there's going to be a fatality."
This comes as a man from Lincoln has been arrested after a collision resulted in van driver being killed, according to the Northern Echo.
