22 November 2007 Driver picks up 'unfair ticket' after missing sign

Scottish motorist picked up a fine for missing a sign A Scottish motorist has claimed he has been given an unfair ticket after failing to see a sign and parking in a restricted area, according to a local source.

East Kilbride News states that 50-year-old Stuart Marshall from Whitehalls missed a placard informing him that the Baird Hill area of The Murray was forbidden.

"I've now been left with a £60 fine, but I'm planning to appeal the council's decision," said the aggrieved motorist.

Mr Marshall may now face a larger car insurance bill, as cover firms rarely offer cheaper policies to those who have a record of previous convictions on the road.

It has been reported that drivers in Caradon could soon experience their own difficulties with parking, after the Plymouth Evening Herald stated that the cost of an hour's stay in the town is to increase by 400 per cent.
