02 November 2007 Vandal attacks cause problems for Surrey motorists
Motorists in a residential area of Surrey have seen their vehicles hit by a series of vandal attacks, it has been reported.According to the Surrey Mirror, the criminals have left car windows smashed in addition to scratched paintwork.
Both of these acts can be problematic for motorists as it may lead them to claim on their car insurance policies.
Similarly, they may become out of pocket if they choose to pay for repairs instead.
Officials in the area have stated that they are looking to reduce such acts of vandalism in the future.
A spokesperson said: "Officers from Reigate and Banstead's safer neighbourhood team distributed leaflets in the area to warn motorists and ask them to remain vigilant and local officers regularly patrol the area."
Meanwhile, it has been reported that the south-east has the most dangerous rural roads in the country.
The Surrey Advertiser commented that drivers on such highways are five times as likely to crash than on an A-road.
