26 September 2007 Speeders sending message through children's posters
Motorists have been told to slow down by children and adults in a joint campaign in Norfolk that spans generations, according to a local news source. The Norwich Evening News has stated that local schoolchildren have been asked by the Heartsease Residents' Association (HRA) to design placards informing rogue drivers that their behaviour is not acceptable.
As a result, any drop in speed may see a number of motorists save money when it comes to paying their car insurance policy.
Claire Smith, chair of the HRA, has claimed the sense of community in the area has shone through.
She said: "The project has shown that we can all work together."
This comes after the same newspaper reported that drivers in the area may not be taking out car insurance policies.
Some 5,084 driving on Norfolk roads did not have an insurance deal in 2004, it commented.
