25 September 2007 Fronting car insurance customers told to back down
People taking out a fraudulent car insurance policy by 'fronting' have been told to desist by a price comparison service website.Fronting is an act which sees an experienced motorist attain a premium on a vehicle at a cheaper price, only for an inexperienced drivers to use the vehicle.
While Hayley Parsons, managing director of gocompare.com, has commented that the activity is no surprise, she did point that a number of ramifications were possible to those caught out.
"Drivers who have had a policy cancelled will have to declare this on any future insurance applications and will find it harder to buy," said the expert.
Moneynet research earlier in the month found that drivers should look around for a new car insurance deal before simply renewing their existing one.
The firm discovered that those who stuck with the same cover company spent £60 more on average.
