20 September 2007 Rogue drivers caught out by Suffolk Police

A crackdown has seen rogue drivers caught out in Suffolk. Motorists driving without sufficient tax were among a number of people found to be flouting road rules by Suffolk Police, a local source has commented.

According to the Suffolk Evening Star, officers found 42 people caught over the speed limit in the region in addition to 36 on the road without wearing a seatbelt.

This comes after a crackdown over the first two weeks of July 2007 which saw 26 motorists found by officials driving while drunk, it added.

Inspector Sally Gallant has commented that those who still do not comply with the law face punishment.

A motoring conviction could also cause a problem when an offender looks to take out a new car insurance policy.

"We will continue to target those who commit driving offences but we will also continue to hope that those breaking the law get the message before they kill themselves or somebody else," said the official.
