20 September 2007 Winsford motorists told: Avoid service areas

Parking problems in Winsford. Drivers in the Winsford area of Vale Royal have been told to avoid parking in two of the town's service locations.

Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Mark Watt has told motorists that it is not acceptable to park behind the multi-storey car park on Dingle Walk or in the heavy goods vehicle turning area on Dene Drive.

Those that pick up a conviction for the act may find that car insurance companies are reluctant to give them a cheaper cover deal as they are deemed to be a risk on the road.

PSCO Watt commented that there will be no excuse for people who do not heed this warning.

"There are clear yellow lines in place to alert people to the fact that they cannot park in these areas and we will take action against those who flout the law," the official commented.

Cheshire Police Sergeant Dave Harrison last week told drivers that accidents may be avoided if motorists followed road rules more closely.
