22 August 2007 Budget each day, holidaymakers are told
Those looking to head away on holiday this summer need to consider establishing a budget for each day of their trip, according to a financial body.Money saving can begin at home, as many cheap deals are available online and are "very easy" to find, research from the Consumer Credit Counselling Service found.
However, some people may find that costs can start to spiral once holiday insurance and spending allowances are factored in.
Frances Walker, spokesperson for the group, stated that people should consider where they are going before looking into monetary issues.
"If you are going to New York, that is going to cost you a lot more than going on a holiday to Greece so you need to think about what spending money you are going to need," she said.
Each year, 12 million people in the UK find themselves in debt after going on holiday, according to CreditExpert.co.uk.
