21 August 2007 People 'should be careful when purchasing used cars'
Motorists should be cautious when buying a new car, it has been claimed. This comes from Halifax Unsecured Personal Loans, which has stated that buyers need to consider whether they can afford the vehicle initially.
The firm added that there may be a balloon payment near the end of the deal, while car insurance costs may also be factored in.
Drivers should avoid meeting sellers in locations other than their homes or a public place, in order to reduce the risk of crime, the firm pointed out.
Similarly, oil stains on a person's driveway may be a sign that they have simply cleaned the car without making repairs in order to make a profit.
Meanwhile, a number of drivers in the UK may be looking to purchase a new vehicle with 57 licence registration plates.
The models roll into dealerships in September 2007.
