16 July 2007 Vans hit in crime spree
A number of commercial vehicles in Willingdon have been targeted by thieves, news that may well be of interest to van insurance customers.On July 3rd and 4th three separate incidents of theft from vans occurred, with the police suspecting that the same parties may have been involved, Eastbourne Today reports.
Sussex Police have urged all van insurance customers to be careful when parking their vehicles, after equipment such as Bosch drills and a Cango breaker were stolen.
Police Community Safety Officer Angie Osborne told the publication: "If possible we advise that vans are parked off road and preferably backed up to a wall or garage so that access cannot be gained through the rear doors."
Elsewhere in the UK, a small theatre company has been thrown into peril after crooks stole a van full of props and equipment - potentially leaving four people out of work - icKent reported.
