15 June 2007 Motorists have two months to 'stop parking on streets'
Drivers in a Northamptonshire town have close to two months before they are no longer allowed to park on its streets, it has been reported.According to the Northampton Evening Telegraph, Wellingborough residents have until August 5th 2007 to cease from doing it before they are hit with £60 fines.
For car insurance customers, it may be that an offence raises premiums. However, costs may fall if the number of accidents in the area drops.
"When enforcement comes in it will be a big improvement to the town," said councillor Paul Bell.
"People have the option of using the many free car parks in the town, or they can take the risk of parking illegally," he said.
Similar measures in Coventry could be introduced later in the year, according to the Coventry Telegraph.
Office workers, shoppers and commuters will no longer be able to use residential streets close to the city centre to park their cars.
