11 June 2007 Speeding strips 'may come to Princes Risborough'
Motorists may soon have to deal with speeding strips in authorities' new attempt at dealing with rogue drivers, it has been reported. On May 29th 2007, councillors in the Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire debated the measure and its usefulness in regards to cutting dangerous driving, according to the Bucks Free Press.
The £250 pieces of machinery will be installed across the town in several locations - particularly in areas where speeding is a problem, it added.
And councillor Gary Hall is right behind the move, which if successful could reduce the region's car insurance prices.
"There are several roads in the town where drivers often speed up to 70mph and this is a growing concern to people. I think this is still the way to go," he said.
Princes Risborough lies at the bottom of the Chiltern Hills in Buckinghamshire between Winchester and Cambridge.
