08 June 2007 New website aims to keep drivers and passengers in control

A new internet site has been designed with the intention of improving driver and passenger behaviour with a view to making Britain's roads safer, it has been reported.

Easier reports that the Advanced Drivers and Riders website, roadar.org, from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (Rospa) will give advice to all road users regarding how they can stay safe.

And Emma Middleton, development officer for Rospa Advanced Drivers and Riders, commented that poor driving habits are easily developed. They may also have an effect on car insurance policies.

"For this reason, Rospa encourages all road users to consider some kind of refresher training," she said.

"We hope the new website will inspire and assist existing group members as well as others."

Figures from the Department for Transport show that 3,150 people died on UK roads last year, down from 3,201 in 2005.
