18 May 2007 Grieving mother tells drivers to slow down

A mother whose daughter was killed in a car crash last year has today appealed to young drivers to take fewer risks while on the road, it has been reported.

A year ago, Dr Margaret Davidson, 26, died after a collision with 19 year-old Nolan Haworth - who has since admitted that he was driving dangerously, according to the Oxford Mail.

Now, Elizabeth Davidson has called for young motorists to take care behind the wheel, releasing a picture of Mr Haworth's smashed vehicle in the aftermath of the crash.

"All drivers, including young drivers, need to keep their speed down and drive sensibly," she said.

The risks young drivers often take may result in them paying more when it comes to car insurance.

Last week, the Association of British Insurers called for motorists to be careful, especially between 23:00 and 01:00 BST - as, at this time each weekend, around 76 serious accidents occur involving young motorists.
