15 May 2007 Motorcyclists 'are ignoring warnings'
People taking to roads in Wales on their motorcycles are not listening to police campaigns warning them about their safety, it has been claimed.According to the BBC, 12 bikers have been killed so far this year – four during a week in Easter.
Officials in Wales have remarked that riders in the country are treating the roads as a racetrack and driving dangerously in accordance, it added, while they may also be risking other drivers' car insurance.
The constabulary followed two bikers by air, with an observing officer calling their behaviour "dreadful".
"Of all the years I've been policing, it's the worst motorcycle driving I have ever seen," said PC Dafydd Hedd Evans.
It appears that this may have been a problem in the country for quite a while.
In his online blog last year, deputy chief constable Clive Wolfendale suggested that bikers be banned from national parks, according to the BBC.
