03 May 2007 Britons warned to take out Euro car cover
Drivers looking to make the trip over the Channel to Europe should look to take out appropriate car insurance, it has been claimed.According to Find.co.uk, European breakdown recovery is not a high priority for travellers, despite the fact that it could be a nightmare scenario to a dream trip away.
It warned that while some cover will extend to most countries on the continent, there are a few which require the purchase of a Green Card.
Kate Marsden, marketing director at the company, reiterated the importance of having the proper policy.
"Whatever your overseas motoring plans this summer, make sure you are covered for all the countries you intend to visit and against the eventuality of a breakdown," said Kate Marsden, marketing director at Find.co.uk.
This weekend may provide an opportunity for some motorists to take a break in Europe.
It also marks the first May bank holiday during which travellers can visit Romania and Bulgaria since they became EU member states at the turn of the year.
