Police have warned homeowners in a town in the east of England to be careful after a spate a burglaries in the area, a news body has reported.Criminals posing as other people in order to enter a property have been reported in East Anglia, according to the Great Yarmouth Mercury.
Residents of Great Yarmouth could have their home insurance compromised if they were to fall victim to uninvited callers who lie about their identity in order to gain entry.
And the news body has claimed that three elderly people suffered robberies on Tuesday 24th April.
Subsequently, police have urged people to fit a spy hole or chain to their door so they can check who it is ringing the bell.
Similarly, a visitor claiming to have seen activity around the house may be looking to get a homeowner outside of the property before striking, it added.
Meanwhile, people should be sure to lock up over the lighter, summer months, as opportunist thieves could take any opportunity to break-in that they can get.
