19 April 2007 Rogue parking sees people struggle around town
People who park poorly are turning an area of Cheshire into a dangerous obstacle course, a local news provider has reported. The Wilmslow Express has claimed that rogue drivers in the area are making life difficult for pedestrians as well as other motorists.
Cars, lorries and vans who park on footpaths and pavements could indirectly cause an accident, which in turn can invalidate a car insurance claim.
Things are especially difficult for Brian Rigg, a blind campaigner from Wilmslow who makes his way around town using a guide dog, the paper added.
When the poor parkers force Mr Rigg into the road, cars are in danger of swerving or hitting him.
Meanwhile, the same source has reported that the area's local council is looking to introduce a dress code for all taxi drivers.
Under the terms of the legislation, hackney carriage and private hire cabbies should wear full length trousers or tailored shorts.
