05 April 2007 Bank Holiday breakdown warning

Motorists looking to take a trip over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend have been told to be prepared for potential accidents and breakdowns.

According to moneysupermaket.com, drivers should consult their car insurance policy before setting off.

They should check how long the average call-out time is, whether a no claims discount is applicable to any service they receive and if the breakdown agent will take them to their destination or back home, it added.

And Richard Mason has told them that comprehensive cover can see people avoid wasting valuable holiday time.

"After all, the last thing you want is to stump up an exorbitant call-out fee or organise your own recovery service while stranded abroad," he said.

According to the Road Safety Authority, motorists should be prepared for anything with regards to the expected bank holiday traffic congestion.

Similarly, searching for a parking space at a local attraction may prove as testing as a well-organised Easter egg hunt.
