26 March 2007 Yorkshire motorists to be consulted for survey
A traffic survey conducted by Sheffield Council officials in Yorkshire will help the body update its traffic information data, it has been reported.Survey teams will man an area near the M1 in the city, as well as in Rotherham, in order to assess the habits of local motorists, according to Sheffield Today.
Drivers will be stopped and asked questions by surveyors, or will be handed a pre-paid postcard questionnaire, it added - the results of which may lead to action being taken that may have a positive affect on their car insurance.
"The information collected is really important and forms part of our commitment to reduce congestion and improve air quality within the city," said councillor Terry Fox, Sheffield Council cabinet member for transport.
Meanwhile, the same news source has reported that police have warned delivery drivers in the area to make sure their vehicles are secured after a spate of thefts in the area.
