21 March 2007 Sat-navs 'cut road rage'
In-car satellite navigation systems (sat-navs) can help to reduce road rage, according to a new study. Snooper - a sat-nav brand - has found that the technology has helped to cut incidents of road rage by around 50 per cent, reports the carkeys website.
Commenting on the results of the study, Steven Ballard, the marketing director of Snooper's manufacturer Performance Products, told the site that due to advances in technology, the systems "provide a safer, more efficient driving experience those drivers who invest in the technology".
Those with motor insurance may also be interested to read that other results in from the research suggest the number or road rage incidents are reduced due to a sat-nav's ability to cut driver stress. This, the study argues, is achieved through satellite navigation increasing concentration levels at the wheel and raising awareness.
Snooper provides both sat-navs and speed camera detectors. Its products include the Syrius portable two-in-one sat-nav and speed camera detector and the Snooper Evolution, which is a camera detector which can be used both in cars and on motorcycles.
